Angel Fabia is a bright 8-year-old girl who continues to shine in school despite facing overwhelming challenges at home. Angel and older sister live with their aging grandmother after being abandoned by their parents before Angel even started school. Fluent in both English and Kiswahili, Angel consistently ranks among the top pupils in her 2nd grade class and was recently rated as "Exceeding Expectations" in her latest examination. Her dream is to become a teacher, a goal that reflects her passion for learning and her desire to uplift others through education. Unfortunately, Angel often misses school due to a lack of school fees and poverty, and when she joined school, well-wishers kindly donated her uniform.

Her grandmother suffers from high blood pressure and chronic back pain and can no longer do the work required by a casual laborer which leaves the family with reliable income. The grandmother doesn't know the whereabouts of Angel’s parents, resulting in no one else to support her in taking care of her grandchildren. Additionlly, they have endured several evictions and often go to bed hungry. Despite these hardships, Angel’s hope and commitment to her education remain strong.
