Glory is a bright and determined 17-year-old girl currently in Grade 10. She is and has been part of the CLCL sponsorship program since 2019, when she was in Grade 3. However, she recently lost her sponsor due to unavoidable circumstances.
Glory was born and raised in a poverty-stricken family, the fourth-born in a family of six children. Her parents did not complete basic education and have limited employment opportunities, leaving the family dependent on irregular casual work. Her father rarely provides financial support, while her mother bears most of the responsibility for caring for the six children, often taking casual jobs far from home and sometimes being away for weeks. Before receiving CLCL sponsorship, these challenges affected Glory’s self-esteem and welfare, but despite her circumstances, she remained determined and excelled academically, earning the opportunity to join the sponsorship program.
Through CLCL’s sponsorship, Glory has been able to attend school regularly, unlike two of her elder siblings who had to drop out of school. She has remained focused on her education and continues to pursue her dream of becoming a medical doctor. Glory has come this far because someone believed in her. With continued support, she can one day achieve her dream of becoming a doctor.
