At only 9 years old, Precious has already proven herself to be a bright and hardworking pupil, who is described as curious, focused, and always among the top of her 3rd-grade class. Despite her potential, Precious now faces the heartbreaking possibility of dropping out of school. 

Precious’s family is currently facing severe financial and health challenges. Her father, who was the family’s breadwinner from his house painting job, was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and kidney failure. He is undergoing dialysis twice a week, which has left him too weak to work and provide for the family. Precious’s mother also suffers from severe dust allergies, making it difficult for her to sustain casual employment. The family, therefore, lacks a stable source of income and struggles to meet basic needs, including food, medical costs, and school fees. 

Due to these challenges, Precious has repeatedly been sent home because her unpaid school fees. Without timely support, her dream of completing her education and becoming a cosmetologist in the future may be cut short.
